Thanks for your question, the hitting surface in the Fiberbuilt Grass Series and Player Preferred Series are not the same. The Fiberbuilt Grass series has been a leading product in the golf industry for 3 decades and provides the ultimate in durability and injury prevention. (it is the only mat to last 300,000 shots). Fiberbuilt Grass is ideal if you are looking for a forgiving hitting surface that completely eliminates turf shock and is easy on the joints.
The new Player Preferred Series has a completely different playing surface that we call Pure Impact Turf. Our Pure Impact Turf has been launch monitor-tested to deliver the most accurate simulation of the launch conditions of real fairway grass. Its proprietary Vibration Absorption Layer absorbs 94.7% of the club head vibration, providing the realistic feel and sound better players prefer, and allowing you to attack the ball without hesitation. If performance and feel are more important to you then I recommend this series.
